Islamabad: The government is contemplating to decrease petroleum products’ prices by Rs2/litre here on Thursday.
The government came under severe criticism when it increased petroleum products’ prices on December 31 exorbitantly. The MQM, which deserted the coalition government in the centre, had listed the hike in POL prices one of the main reason to quit the government.
Sources in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources told The News Tribe that the government is going to decrease the oil prices by Rs2 per liter. They said that the announcement may be made by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani during his anticipated address to the National Assembly today.
