Islamabad: The Australian volleyball team is set to tour Pakistan for the first time to play a three-match series, with the Kangaroo squad arriving in Pakistan on Sunday.
According to details, the Australian volleyball team, ranked 35th in the world rankings, will come to Pakistan to play the series. The 20-member Australian squad will arrive in Pakistan on Sunday, with players and officials included in the mentioned squad.
Pakistan and Australia’s volleyball teams will face each other in a series of 3 matches, to be played at Liaquat Gymnasium Pakistan Sports Complex. The first match between both teams is scheduled for May 28, while the second match is on May 29 and the third match is on May 30.
After finishing the series, the Australian team will travel straight from Islamabad to Bahrain for the AVC Challenge Cup, set to take place in Manama from June 2 to June 9. The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) noted that Pakistan will also head to Bahrain for the AVC Challenge Cup, emphasizing the event as a notable opportunity for both teams to engage in high-level competition.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistani team ranked 51st in the world rankings, recently achieved the honor of becoming the Asian volleyball champion by defeating Turkmenistan in the final.
In the final of the Asian Volleyball Championship, Pakistan easily defeated Turkmenistan 3-1 to clinch the title. The national team remained unbeaten throughout the event, winning all their matches.
