Islamabad: Following the call for a sit-in by Jamaat-e-Islami and a protest by PTI, the Red Zone and roads leading from Rawalpindi to the capital have been partially blocked with containers. Additionally, five Jamaat-e-Islami workers have been arrested.
A spokesperson for Jamaat-e-Islami claimed that their workers have started being detained from Express Chowk, with five workers taken into custody from the arriving convoy.
The spokesperson condemned the arrests vigorously, accusing the government of provoking peaceful protesters with such tactics. They alleged that the government, in a state of panic, aims to disrupt the peace of Islamabad and warned that if the workers are not released immediately, the government will be held responsible for the situation.
