Karachi: Bad news has emerged for the people of Karachi as the electricity prices have been significantly increased by Rs 9.98 per unit.
Details reveal that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification announcing the price hike for K-Electric consumers.
According to the notification, the price increase is due to the monthly fuel adjustment for the past nine months. K-Electric consumers will face additional charges from June to September.
The notification specifies that K-Electric consumers will have to pay an additional Rs 2.67 per unit in June, Rs 3.10 per unit in July, Rs 3.22 per unit in August, and 99 paisa per unit in September.
The notification also states that this increase will not apply to K-Electric’s lifeline consumers.
