Islamabad: Pakistan has started monitoring all flights arriving from Iran and the western region, including. According to sources, every activity in the airspace along the western borders is being monitored, and directives have been issued to maintain alerts for all flights coming from the west.
As per reports, following the exchange of strikes between Iran and Pakistan over the last two days, Pakistan has taken proactive measures to closely monitor all flights entering its airspace. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been instructed to rigorously monitor all flights arriving from Iran and the West at the Pakistani borders, reflecting the urgency prompted by the tense regional situation.
The Air Traffic Control (ATC) has also been asked to collect information on flights from both Iran and the West, while commercial airspaces for both countries remain open.
On the other hand, the Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Khaqan Murtaza, has stated that there is currently no decision to close Pakistani airspace for Iran. He mentioned that there has been no directive from the government to close airspace for Iran, and the situation is being closely monitored.
This development follows Pakistan’s military strikes against terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province. The strikes, conducted in response to Iran’s airstrikes in Balochistan’s Panjgur area allegedly targeting the Jaish al-Adl group, resulted in the death of two young girls, injuring three others, and damaging a mosque and three houses. According to reports from the Iranian state media, at least 7 casualties have been reported in the attack by Pakistani forces.
