Perth: Australian wicketkeeper batter Matthew Wade has announced his retirement from red-ball cricket.
While Matthew Wade has decided to continue playing white-ball cricket, he has bid farewell to red-ball cricket, that is, Test cricket. Following the retirement announcement, the final of the Sheffield Shield Trophy will mark Matthew Wade’s last match in his first-class cricket career.
On the other hand, Matthew Wade remains hopeful of being included in the squad for the T20 World Cup.
Matthew Wade expressed that he wants to showcase his extraordinary talent, especially in the Big Bash League in white-ball cricket. Not playing the red ball format will give him the opportunity to keep myself strong.
It is worth noting that Matthew Wade has represented Australia in 36 Test matches from 2012 to 2021.
