Beirut: Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah has conceded that Iran has been supporting his outfit since 1982, media reports said on Wednesday. However, he said if Israel attacked Iran, the Islamic Republic would not ask Hezbollah to fight on behalf of it.
Speaking at a ceremony held inline with birthday of Muhammad (PBHM), he claimed that Hezbollah was not pursuing policy of Tehran.
He added that his organization had changed its policy. Nasrallah said that Israel wanted to topple President Bashr-al-Assad’s government and also wanted to ignite civil war in Syria. He said that the conspiracy would not succeed.
