Sydney: In Australia, police shot dead a 16-year-old young boy who had attacked a person with a knife in the suburban area of Willetton.
According to international media reports, the young boy was shot by police in the suburban area of Willetton in Perth, where he had stabbed a man in his back with a knife. Police responded to the scene and fired at him, resulting in his death at the scene.
Police reported that the 30-year-old injured individual was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The man who was stabbed is in a serious but stable condition in the hospital and is “doing better” according to authorities.
The deceased boy was 16 years old. Initial reports about the boy after his death indicated evidence of having mental issues and extremist tendencies. Reportedly, on Saturday night, the teenager had made a call to the police, stating that he was going to engage in “acts of violence”. Later on, a member of the public called the police, alerting them that a knife attack was taking place in the car park.
It is noted that this was the third knife attack within a month time in which the assailant was killed, with no significant developments reported regarding investigations into previous incidents.
