Pakistan: Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao arrived here on Thursday on two-day visit to hold talks on June 23 and 24 with her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir to discuss peace and security, Jammu and Kashmir and promotion of friendly exchanges between the two countries.
While talking to media on her arrival she said “ I come here with a positive thinking”. Nirupama urged Pakistan to expedite action against the elements behind Mumbai terror attacks. She said India would take steps for trust building between both the countries.
Pakistan’s Foreign office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua said Pakistan wanted all the disputes to be resolved through dialogues,”We expect the talks will be positive and result oriented” she said.
The meting between the two foreign secretaries is part of the resumption of dialogue process following meeting between Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh in Thimpu, Bhutan in April last year on the sidelines of the Saarc Summit.
Indian External Affairs Minister on Wednesday said all issues that “bug” ties between the two countries will be discussed, but expectations should not be pitched too high.
