Dhaka: Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksha to arrive his first ever visit to Bangladesh today on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, news agencies reported.
Rajapaksha will hold official talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the International Conference Centre in the Prime Minister’s Office this evening. The two leaders will also hold a one-to-one meeting before joining the official talks.
After the official talks, the two countries are scheduled to sign several agreements and memorandums of understanding in the areas of export promotion, business, shipping service, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, education and culture.
The Sri Lankan president will call on President Zillur Rahman at the Bangabhaban on Tuesday evening.
Rajapaksha will visit the National Mausoleum and the Dhaka Export Processing Zone at Savar, the Bangabandhu Museum at Dhanmondi and the Buddhist Temple at Merul Badda in Dhaka.
