Medina: Sheikh Ismail, Who Offered Free Tea to Pilgrims for 40 Years, Passes Away

Medina: Sheikh Ismail Al-Zaim Abu Al-Sabaa, who had been providing free tea and coffee to pilgrims in Medina for 40 years, passed away at the age of 96.

According to details, Sheikh Ismail belonged to the city of Hama in Syria and had been residing in Medina for 50 years.

Sheikh Ismail used to serve hot tea or coffee and food to every arriving pilgrim in disposable cups for free. He was famous for his humanitarian service as a host to the guests of the holy sites of Medina, including the Prophet’s Mosque.

Sheikh Ismail also used to provide free scents to pilgrims and distributed dates daily. Occasionally, he also offered traditional sweets from his ancestral region to the pilgrims.
