Use of the Word “Party” Declared a Criminal Offense in Afghanistan

Kabul: Following restrictions on political parties in Afghanistan, the use of the word “party” has also been declared a criminal offense.

In a press conference, Minister of Justice Abdul Hakim Shariati stated that there are restrictions on political parties in Afghanistan, and using the word “party” is also considered a crime under the law.

Abdul Hakim Shariati mentioned that this term was declared illegal under the Ministry of Justice last year, and there is no place for parties in this system.

He further stated that legally, taking the name of a political group or party is a crime. When victory came, whoever liked the system stayed, and whoever did not like it left through various paths.
