PTI Firm on Not Readmitting Fawad Chaudhry to the Party, says Raoof Hasan

Islamabad: Raoof Hasan, the Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has confirmed that the party has no intentions of re-admitting Fawad Chaudhry into the party. This announcement comes following speculations about the return of the former senior vice president to the ranks of the party.

During an interview on a private television channel, responding to inquiries about Chaudhry’s potential return, Hasan clarified that there has been no indication from PTI founder Imran Khan supporting such a move. Hasan emphasized a broad reluctance to re-admit members who abandoned the party during challenging times.

He remarked that the environment within PTI has shifted significantly towards nurturing a younger, more ideologically driven group, especially after the turbulent events of May 9. He expressed strong sentiments about the media hype surrounding these former members seeking re-entry into the party, referring to them as “rats, and suggested that external forces might be attempting to sow discord within the party ranks. According to Hasan, these efforts have failed to weaken PTI, which he claims has only grown stronger in adversity.

Chaudhry’s distancing from PTI was marked by his announcement on May 24, 2023, of taking a break from politics after criticizing the party’s actions on May 9, signaling a significant rift within the party at a critical juncture.
