Last 2 Afghan Prisoners Released from Guantanamo Jail after 22 Years

Kabul: The last two Afghan prisoners held under the notorious American regime at Guantanamo Bay have been released after 22 years, returning to the Afghan capital Kabul, where they were warmly welcomed by the Afghan government.

According to media reports, the last two Afghan prisoners held in custody at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, Mullah Abdul Zahir Sabeer and Abdul Kareem, have returned to Kabul, marking the completion of the release process for all detainees associated with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

It is worth noting that Mullah Abdul Zahir Sabeer hails from the Pul-e-Alam city of Logar province, particularly from the village of Hisarak, he was arrested by the US military on May 10, 2002, while Abdul Kareem belongs to the Tani district of Khost province and was arrested by the government of Pakistan in 2002 and over to US forces.
