ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday (today) has heard National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Nab Qamar Zaman Chaudhry’s appointment; accepted the application of opposition leader for hearing and issued notices to the parties including Attorney General and PTI chief Imran Khan.

Three-member bench of apex court comprising Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the case filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan through Hamid Khan Advocate.
As court resumed the hearing Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan appeared on the behalf of opposition leader and informed the court that Khurshid Shah has filed an application for impleadment in the case because PTI chairman has leveled allegations that government and opposition have appointed the Nab chief with hand in gloves.
However all the constitutional and legal requirements have been fulfilled during the process of appointment, he added.
The court after hearing the initial arguments of Aitzaz Ahsan accepted the application for hearing and issued notices to Attorney General, Imran Khan and other parties of case. The court also directed the parties to file their reply till the next date of hearing.
Later, Hamid Khan Advocate, pointed out that court had directed Attorney General (AG) to file federation stance but government reply has not been filed yet. The court summoned attorney general but later it was informed that AG is not present in the Islamabad.
Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing of case till March 28.
