Israeli Attacks Kill 34 Palestinians and Injure 71 in Gaza, Death Toll Reaches 37,266

Gaza City: The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as relentless Israeli military operations inflict severe casualties and exacerbate an already dire humanitarian crisis.

In the past 24 hours alone, at least 34 Palestinians have been killed and 71 wounded in various attacks across the region. Among the dead are women, children, and even medical personnel, reflecting the indiscriminate nature of the violence.

The Bureij refugee camp, densely populated with displaced Palestinians since 1948, witnessed tragic casualties, including the death of a child in a recent strike. Gaza City also suffered as three women were killed in a targeted home strike. Al-Ahli Hospital reported multiple injuries from overnight attacks, further straining its limited resources.

Since the onset of the conflict on October 7, a staggering 37,266 people have lost their lives, with 85,102 wounded. The death toll includes 15,694 children, leaving 17,000 orphaned. Infrastructure damage is extensive, with 60% of residential buildings destroyed or damaged, 80% of commercial facilities impaired, and 267 mosques obliterated. Educational institutions have been heavily affected, with 88% of school buildings damaged, disrupting the education of thousands of children.

The West Bank has not been spared, with 544 people killed and over 5,200 wounded due to Israeli military and settler attacks. Additionally, 9,170 individuals have been detained, including a recent arrest of a 13-year-old boy in Jenin.

The blockade on Gaza has led to a severe famine, with over a million Palestinians facing imminent starvation. Reports highlight a critical shortage of food and basic necessities, leading to desperate scenes as displaced people scramble for drinking water. The northern Gaza water crisis has intensified, and more than 200 children are at risk of dying from malnutrition, according to Kamal Adwan Hospital’s director.

Tragically, an eight-year-old girl, Hanan Al-Zaanin, recently succumbed to severe malnutrition. UNICEF warns that at least 3,000 Palestinian children are currently at risk. Despite limited aid deliveries, the supplies are insufficient to meet the dire needs of Gaza’s population, leading to widespread starvation and a new famine.
