Islamabad: Attorney General Munir A Malik has said that there was strong evidence against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in the treason case and he could be arrested very soon with the registration of a complaint in the special court.
Talking to media, he said that the evidence would not take long time and the decision will be made quickly by the special court, he further said, adding that as soon as the special court receives the complaint the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will be authorised to make the arrest.
He said that the Special Court has the power to hear any bail application filed by the accused. He also said that President of Pakistan had the power to pardon the accused.
It is pertinent to mention here that the government on Tuesday formed a special court . The government has approved a three-member bench, which will be headed by Sindh High Court’s Justice Faisal Arab.
Balochistan High Court’s Justice Tahira Safdar and Lahore High Court’s Justice Yawar Ali are the other two members of the bench.
