The other day we have reported that epic PC game DayZ is coming to Sony PlayStation 4 or PS4 and now another major game, Thief from Eidos Montreal, is confirmed to be the part of the console.
VideoGamer reported Eidos Montreal producer Stephane Roy saying that next generation console version of Thief will be capped at 30 FPS (Frames Per Second) with a better physics.
“I would prefer to have better physics” in PS4 Thief than a smoother 60 frames per second frame rate,” Stephane further said while talking with the site.
For Roy uniqueness and better physics for players is more important than a higher frame rate like 60 frames per second.
He went onto saying “On my side, the type of game I’m going to work on… I don’t want to put extra pressure on the team just because we can do it if it’s not a necessity. If the players see nothing different, maybe I would prefer to have better physics and stuff like that and not this 60 frames per second frame rate.”
It is to be mentioned that majority of next generation console games are expected to be coming with 30 fps as was a forecast by Jhon Carmack, a leading ID programmer, last year.
According to VideoGamer, PS4’s other titles like Killzone Shadow Falls are also likely to be capped at 30fps too.
According to Roy, the next version of Thief, to be launched next on PS4 and PC simultaneously, will be quite similar with the PC edition.
