Karachi: Teaching and non-teaching staff went on strike in University of Karachi’s computer science department after few members of student wing of a liberal political party tortured faculty staff.
Sources said that the incident took place when the staff barred few students from cheating during the semester examination.
The students, belonging to the wing of a liberal political party, showed resistance by damaging the property of the department and tortured the staff.
Following the incident teaching faculty reported the higher authorities of the university and boycotted all the activities.
The staff has demanded the university to take action against the members of the student wing.
