Peshawar: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan has claimed responsibility for an assassination attempt on Geo News’ senior anchor Hamid Mir threatening more attacks on him in future.
Talking to French News Agency from an disclosed location, Ehsanullah said life and death is in the hands of Allah and Allah saved Hamid Mir but we will continue assassination attempts on Hamid Mir.
The spokesman of banned outfit said that Hamid Mir initially worked in support of Muslims and Islam for which he also gained much popularity but now he works to defame the Muslims and busily involved in propaganda against Islam.
 He outlined three different categories of journalists, the first being pro-Islamist working for the cause of Islam, second category entails impartial media persons and that Taliban have nothing to do with them while the third class consist of anti-Islam journalists saying that Hamid Mir is part of the last category.
Meanwhile, Chairman Difa-e-Pakistan Council Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has claimed that there is no person named Ehsanullah Ehsan among Taliban adding that assassination attempt on Hamid Mir has nothing to do with Taliban.
It is to mention here that Interior Minister Rehman Malik had offered Rs50 million reward for a person who would provide any information related to the attack on Mir.
