Jeddah: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday appreciated Saudi King Abdullah’s step to call an urgent summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The President is on Saudi Arabian visit to attend the fourth extraordinary summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), convened by King Abdullah in Makkah, to discuss the challenges facing the Muslim world and to further strengthen unity and solidarity of the community.
Giving an interview to Saudi newspaper in Jeddah, Zardari said that the summit would open new ways for relationship and unity among the Muslim world.
“Pak-Saudi relationship is based on stable and mature ties,” the president said.
“Pakistanis will never forget the humanity of King Abdullah as he helped people of Pakistan in their troubled moments.”
The President further said that the world is facing serious challenges and the Muslim world could only overcome them by unity.
