Rawalpindi: The search and rescue operation at Gayari is being carried out round the clock despite cold weather is resulting into frequent breakdown of plant equipment, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Monday.
The statement said that all out efforts were being under taken to keep maximum plant equipment functional.
“The platforms constructed on all sites have been consolidated. However, excavation work is being focused on expansion of the sites,” it added.
The ISPR said ground penetrating Rader Teams had indentified two more points for further probe. Since 7th April 2012, when avalanche hit Battalion Headquarters at Gayari, a total of 1.73 million cubic feet area has been excavated.
Norwegian team after rendering necessary assistance has arrived in Islamabad and will be leaving for their country on Tuesday.
