Peshawar: Dr Qibla Ayaz has been appointed as new vice chancellor of University of Peshawr (UoP), khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the competent authority,
The sources said that Dr Qibla Ayaz was the senior professor of UoP and formerly serve as dean faculty of Islamic studies and Oriental studies, Shaikh Zayed Islamic Centre, UoP.
According to the sources it was learned that former VC UoP Dr Azmat Hayat khan was sent on forced leave just before two months of his retirement, to abroad due to political influence from some authorities who didn’t want Azmat Hayat to chaired the varsity more.
“Some senior professors of the varsity were involve in creating conspiracies against Azmat Hayat and its worth mentioned here that azmat hayat is also facing a court preceding about a petition filed against him by a varsity professor in the account of breach of copyright in his PhD thesis” sources added.
Dr Qibla Ayaz attained his master degree in islamic studies from UoP and PhD from the University of Edinburgh, UK in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies in 1986.
Dr Qibla Ayaz is a member of different organisations, which are contributing a great deal to the academic and administrative policy making in graduate, postgraduate and higher education in the form of research, teaching and administration.
