Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan in a much-awaited NRO implementation case verdict on Tuesday observed that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is not an upright man as he showed loyalty to a particular political party instead of the Constitution .
An SC bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, in its judgment, said that a dishonest man could not become member of the parliament. The court observed that the prime minister might be declared disqualified.
The SC hinted that it might form a commission to look into whether Gilani could be declared illegal.
The court in its orders expressed disappointment over the non-implementation of its verdict in NRO case.
Justice Khosa said that NAB and government were not serious in implementing the court orders.
He said court orders were being deliberately defied. The verdict noted that the court showed patience for two years.
The bench had sent six options to a larger bench of the apex court which will take up the issue on January 16.
The options include.
1.The people of Pakistan decide the fate of the case and court should express restrain .
2.The court take action against NAB chairman and federal secretary law for misconduct.
3.Prime Minister’s membership from parliament be suspended.
4.The same action be taken against President Asif Ali Zardari for violating Constitution.
5.Contempt of court action be taken against the executive and federal secretaries.
6. A commission be constituted to decide the issue.
