Islamabad: Former Pakistan foreign minister and senior Pakistan People’s Party Leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi has resigned from his party membership here on Monday.
Talking to media outside the Parliament House on Monday, he said that the President Asif Ali Zardari was embracing those who betrayed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. “Opponents of BB are now hands of Mr. Zardari,” Qureshi added.
“I was the first district Nazim during Musharraf’s regime who resign from the post while as the same time Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur was also a district Nazim but she did not resign,” Quershi said.
He termed PPP’s alliance with the Quaide-League as negation to the Charter of Democracy (CoD). “CoD was reached with Mian Sahib (Nawaz Sharif) not with Chaudhrys,” he went on saying. He said that no alliance should be made with the Q-League unless killers of BB were brought to justice.
The former PPP stalwart said that Zardari loved power to the extent as he was ready to sacrifice every thing for it.
“I announce to resign from the Zardari-League and the National Assembly,” he said. “Shah je Utho ab Kooch Kro Is Sher Main Jee Ko lagana Kia,” he added in Urdu.
