Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday hinted that it might abolish Rental Power Projects if they did not prove transparent.
An SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the Rental Power Policy case.
Shahid Hamid, counsel for Naudero Rental Power Plant told the court that the approval of rental power projects had been given by the Federal Cabinet.
“Any illegal act does not become legal after cabinet’s approval,” the CJ remarked.
He said that the court might abolish the projects after finding misappropriation.
”The government should keep in view transparency prior to approval of any project,” he said.
