Lahore: Punjab police apprehended the five people including the mastermind who were, directly or indirectly, involved in leaking the entry test of University of Engineering and Technology was scheduled to be held on July 24.
Some 41,000 candidates from across Punjab appeared in the test to take admission but the university administration, after getting information that the entry test has been leaked, annulled the entry test and rescheduled the test on September 02.
The police have arrested five accused including a student of National University of Science and Technology, a police official, a professor of Gujranwala University and an employee of UET. The arrested accused were identified as Farooq, Ahsan, Prof Iftikhar, Anees and Shuja Zaidi.
Police said that during investigation the gang revealed that they wer involved in the criminal business for at least four years and they have leaked the entry tests of varius universities.
They further disclosed that they also leaked the entry test of M. Phil of Punjab University. They told the police that they have earned millions of rupees through this evil business.
