Karachi: Traders of Karachi would protest on Wednesday against extortion and worsening law and order in the metropolis, this was announced by the former president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Siraj Qasim Teli flanked by prominent traders and industrialists here on Monday.
During a press conference he said the political parties responsible for deteriorating law and order situation of the metropolis.
He urged the Mutthida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) to determine the fact that who were behind the terror activities in the city.
He said that police and Rangers should provide security to the traders and industrialists, adding that the if the politicians needed security they should hired private guards for the purpose not police personnel.
Teli announced that the traders would shut their business completely on April 13 if their demands were not met.
He demanded of the government to allow the business community to install barriers in the markets.
Teli further demanded that issuance illegal mobile SIMs should be restricted and those should be blacked that had already been issued.
He lamented that a police picket was set up in Sher Shah Scrap market after the carnage but the posts was removed withen 15 days.
