Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday signed a reference to reopen Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder and former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto case.
The reference would be filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Earlier on Sunday Law Minister Babar Awan had said that the president enjoyed powers under Article 186 of the Constitution to send a law question of public interest for consideration of the Supreme Court.
The federal cabinet had also approved the reference to reopen the Bhutto murder case.
