Peshawar: At least nine people including two police officials were killed and another 30 , including 12 women were injured ,in a suicide blast in Hangu District of Pakistan’s north western tribal region here on Thursday.
Sources said that a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden into a police mobile on railway road near a police check point. The dead and injured were shifted to Hangu District Hospital, where an emergency was declared.
Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
Police said that 300 to 400 kg explosive material was used in the blast, adding that seven-feet deep crater was created on the ground where the incident took place while 15Â houses damaged in the area.
Pakistan army has been battling against Taliban led insurgency in the lawless tribal region.
