Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has warned Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik not to use term “Punjabi Taliban” for the terrorists who killed Religious Affairs Minster Shahbaz Bhatti on Wednesday.
Shahbaz Sharif while talking to media after visiting assassinated minister’s residence on Thursday said that he had asked Rehman Malik not to use such world as it would divide the nation, adding that he also questioned Malik whether who carried out terror activities in Sindh, Khyber Pukhtunkha and Balochistan are named as Pathan, Sindhi or Baloch Taiban.
He said that terrorism was not a provincial matter as the whole nation was facing the menace.
Shahbaz said that the Punjab government would help the federal government to bring the Bhatti’s killer to book.
He said that the assassination of Shahbaz Bhatti has damaged the country’s image. “We have to fight terrorism collectively: he added.
Shahbaz said that politics should not be played on the matter of Bhatti’s killing.
