Karachi: An attempt of negotiation between Sindh government and transporters failed on Wednesday night. Transporters announced strike on Thursday in Karachi.
Provincial Transport Minister Akther Jadoon has said that price hike in petroleum products is a federal government decision not provincial. He said any black mailing would not be allowed in the name of strike.
He said despite several attempts transporters are not willing to negotiate with the government regarding the issue.
Head of Karachi Transport Ittihad (KTI) Irshad Hussain Bukhari has said it is better for us to stay at homes instead of giving further burden of fare to masses.
Political parties and civil society all over Pakistan have strongly condemned recent price hike in petroleum products. They said that the recent price hike would further raise the burden of inflation on the shoulder of poor masses.
They demanded government of Pakistan that withdraw its decision with immediate effect otherwise it would raise anarchy in the country.
