Islamabad: The Supreme Court Chief Justice iftikhara Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday ordered that The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Waseem Ahmed be sacked and court be informed in three days.
The order was issued during the hearing of Haj corruption scandal. A seven member bench of the SC headed by the CJ was hearing Suo motu case of the multi-million scam.
The CJremarked that it appeared the government had decided to create hurdles for the court.
The CJ remarked that all the corruption cases were being tired to be spoiled.
The chief justice expressed his annoyance over ex federal minister Azam Sawi, saying why he did not submit evendences in the court regarding the Haj scam.
The CJ said that political point scoring would not be allowed in the court.
Justice Chaudry asked Federal Investigation Officer how much money has been deposited in the former religious minister Hamid Saeed Kami’s account, adding if lack of progress in the case was due to Kazmi’s influence.
Earlier the FIA submitted its daily progress report into the scam to the SC. Justice Fayaz on the report as the Haj scam could not be probed in the presence of the incumbent FIA DG Waseem Ahemd, adding the FIA has been made idle by the influential people.
Justice Khosa observed that the court was being compelled to assign itself a investigator and the court could do so as Constitution allows it.
The FIA Additional Director General told the court that he was working sincerely on the voice of his conscience.
