Peshawar: A local court on Saturday sent American national Aaron Dehaven, who was arrested for overstaying illegally in Pakistan, to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
Dehaven was presented before the Judicial Magistrate Qudratullah Saturday.
He was brought the court in the Armed Personnel Carrier (APC) amid tight security.
Dehaven was arrested on Friday from the University Town Police limits for overstaying illegally in Pakistan.
Police said that the US national has been booked under 14 Foreign Act.
Dehaven told the court that he had come Pakistan on the business visa for investment and he did not work for any NGO.
He said that his visa had been expired while police had seized his passport adding that he had applied for visa extension .
Sources said that Dehaven was believed to have converted to Islam three years back and was now living in Peshawar, by the name of Haroon, adding that Dehaven has also married a Pakistani girl two years ago.
