Karachi: The wave of target killings continued on Saturday as unidentified armed men shot dead ex-Naib Nazim of the Site Town and injured two others, bringing death toll to 27 within 48 hours in the commercial capital of Pakistan.
Sources said that Saeed Badshah, Ex-Naib Nazim of Site Town, was gunned down in Farid Colony of Orangi Town. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
Panic gripped several areas of Orangi Town following the killing of Saeed Badshah, said to be an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
In another incident of firing, two men were injured near Walika Chowrangi in the limits of Site-A police station.
SP Khurram Waris told media that 35 suspects have been arrested in the ongoing operation against terrorists in Orangi Town.
Meanwhile, MQM chief Altaf Hussain termed the killing of Saeed Badshah as an attempt to disturb peace in Karachi.
