Peshawar: Increasing ratio of plagiarism in University of Peshawar (UoP) raised concerns and doubts regarding the credibility of thesis of professors and associate professors of different faculties.
Sources told The News Tribe that promotion of many teachers of the UoP from the past few years raised question mark on their degrees, because some of the professors and associate professors completed their degree from the foreign universities which was not registered and available in the list of registered varsities of HEC (Higher Education Commission).
The sources said that the thesis of many teachers was published in those journals which were not approved by HEC and the UoP.
The sources further disclosed that Chairman of International Relations, Dr. Ijaz Khan got their degree from British university which was not chartered by UK. While many teachers written their P.hd thesis in Pushtu instead of English language.
But Dr.Ijaz Khan claimed that his name was written in the supervision list of HeC due to the degree he got from foreign varsity.
The sources further said that the teachers has been promoted on the basis of seniority rather than on merit.
According to a survey, faculty of social science department was promoted on the basis of political influence.
