Islamabad: More than 10 million Pakistani children will get free and quality education under the Waseela-e-Taleem initiative of Pakistan government.
According to detail More than 10 million children of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) beneficiary families, aged between 6 to 12 years will get free quality education under the Waseela-e-Taleem initiative of BISP. This was informed by Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program Ms Farzana Raja during the meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari here at the Presidency on Wednesday.
She said that in the first phase of the Waseela-e-Taleem program, one million non-school going children will be sent to schools. The Chairperson BISP briefed the President about various schemes and projects being undertaken under the Umbrella of BISP in the country.
She also updated the President about Waseela-e-Rozgar scheme which would provide vocational and technical training to the female beneficiary or her nominee.
She apprised that BISP plans to train 150,000 beneficiaries every year under the initiative of Waseela-e-Rozgar.
The President appreciated the progress made by BISP and emphasized upon the need for e-monitoring of both Waseela-e-Taleem and Waseela-e-Rozgar initiatives.
He said that the monitoring process will further add to the transparency of the program which already has the appreciation and acknowledgement world over.
