Islamabad: A ban has been imposed on the use of the word “national” for private companies, universities and all other institutions.
The federal cabinet has approved the ban on the use of the word “national,” directing all private institutions to remove the word from their names.
Following the announcement of the establishment of a new university, the federal cabinet granted its approval, and all ministries and institutions were informed of the decision by the directive of the Prime Minister.
Sources from the federal cabinet stated that relevant ministries and agencies have been instructed to immediately halt the use of the word “national” in private sector companies and institutions, and ensure that no term that may give the impression of a governmental entity is used. The Cabinet Division has also requested implementation reports from all ministries and institutions.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister had received complaints about the use of the word “national” in the names of private institutions and universities, which mislead Pakistanis and foreigners both domestically and internationally by using the term “national.”
