LAHORE: Punjab government is going to start crackdowns against foreign students studying in different seminaries in various towns of Punjab without having valid visas.
According to a private TV channel some 48 foreign student of different nationalities are illegally living in seminaries across the province.
The report dispatched to Punjab Interior Ministry said 25 students are living in Lahore, 21 in Chakwal, one each in Khanewal and Rahim Yar Khan without proper documents.
Among illegal students 13 are from Thailand, eight from Kazakhstan, seven from Indonesia, six from China, four from Philippine, two each from Jordan, Malaysia, Mali and one each from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Myanmar and Sudan.
Sources said the Punjab Interior Ministry has directed police to take action against the illegal students and wrote to ambassadors of the relevant countries.
