KARACHI: The Sindh provincial government has finally took final decision for holding local bodies’ election in March while rejected to provide any reason before the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The provincial information minister Sharjeel Memon conducted a press conference after completion of high-level session of Sindh Assembly under chair of Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
Memon said that the Sindh government doesn’t want any speediness in the LB polls.
He clarified the stance of Sindh govenment that the perception should be removed from each mind that provincial administration is against holding LB election.
The provincial minister claimed that they are not restricted to provide reasons before ECP in accordance to the constitution, however, immediate contact would be made to the highest electoral board regarding the local governance polls.
Memon added that there are some reasons for the delay but now the government could hold local election on any given date of March.
