Washington: Search engine giant Google’s flagship tablet Google Nexus & (2013) get the Android 4.3.1 Jelly bean update.
The Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean software update is available for the LTE version of the refreshed Nexus 7.
The new Nexus 7 made its debut in late July as the first device to come pre-loaded with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. Now customers owning the LTE version of the device have started receiving an Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean software update.
“Without any warning, Google started rolling out Android 4.3.1 (JLS36I) late Thursday night. The first device to receive it is the 2013 LTE Nexus 7 (also known as deb and razorg),” reported Android Police.
The Android Police report has also posted a screenshot of the Android 4.3.1 System Update.
“The software update will upgrade your Nexus 7 to Android 4.3.1, which improves performance and stability. Create restricted profiles, for example, to limit family members’ access to apps and content on your tablet or to secure a tablet in a kiosk setting. Capture your thoughts on the go with Google Keep. Recently, the company unveiled Android 4.4 KitKat and many market observers would have thought that Google won’t release any further updates to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, the release of Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean may hint that Google may not release Android 4.4 KitKat as early as we would have thought.
Currently, customers have only reported receiving the Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean software update for the new Nexus 7 LTE and no other Android devices have received the update. Other Nexus and Android-powered device users will have to wait until Google officially releases the latest Jelly Bean flavor to their handsets and tablets. With Android 4.4 KitKat expected to make its debut soon it will be interesting to see how swiftly Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean makes its way to other Android devices.
The software update weighs only 9.42 MB and is rolled out over-the-air (OTA) to new Nexus 7 tablets.
If you own the LTE version of the new Nexus 7, have you received the Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean software update on your tablet?
