London: United Kingdom’s Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA) site has been gotten off following its operation against serious online crimes.
SOCA estimates a half a billion pound fraud that it has detected being done online involving highly influenced websites in various European countries.
Taken down on grounds for technical reasons, SOCA officials say the Internet Service Provide claiming that site was down to save other sites on its hosting from being shut down.
A planned stream of traffic was generated to the agency’s site, immediately following by hosting company’s move to shutdown the site.
The website has been targeted in the past by members of “hacktivist” group LulzSec. In June 2011, they forced the site offline using similar tactics.
