The Hague: The United Arab Emirates has demanded the establishment of an independent and autonomous Palestinian state from the International Court of Justice.
Presenting evidence against Israeli occupation in the International Court of Justice, the UAE stressed that international law must be universally applied, and the law should be binding on all.
This stance was presented by the UAE Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The UAE Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh presented her arguments against Israeli occupation in Palestine, emphasizing that international law must be binding on all.
She stated that in the backdrop of injustices against Palestinians for the past seven decades, the application of this law is imperative for the issue of Palestine.
The ambassador, before the panel of 15 judges in The Hague, reiterated that the United Arab Emirates advocates for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state through peaceful and long-term solutions.
The return of the long-denied right to the Palestinian people is crucial so that based on the principle of self-determination, an independent and autonomous Palestinian state comprising the 1967 borders can be established, with its capital in Jerusalem.
It is worth noting that fifty-two countries and three international organizations are presenting evidence against Israeli aggression in Gaza in the ICJ. In these hearings, besides addressing Israeli efforts to change the demographic ratio of Palestinians, the status of East Jerusalem will also be assessed.
