Kabul: The Ministry of Public Affairs in Afghanistan has initiated more than 110 developmental and maintenance projects since March 21, 2023.
According to Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Affairs, during the last 10 months, over 90 projects with a total cost of 2 billion Afghanis (equivalent to 1.70 US dollars per Afghan Afghani) have been completed.
The initiated projects include the construction of approximately 1,000 kilometers of roads across different parts of the country, the construction of 30 bridges, dams for water reservoirs, and protective walls. Notable projects involve the Kabul-Kandahar Highway, the construction of the Afghan Ring Road, and the renovation of the Salang Tunnel, connecting Kabul, the national capital of Afghanistan, from the northern provinces to the Central Asian states.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Abdul Latif Nazari, emphasized the government’s commitment to overcoming economic challenges and generating employment opportunities. The administration plans to launch additional infrastructural projects, focusing on railways, highways, energy development, and transparent mining practices to create more jobs and address poverty concerns, Nazari added.
