Beirut: Israeli forces, through an aerial attack in southern Lebanon, have martyred senior Hezbollah commander Wissam Al-Tawil, along with his companion.
According to media reports, Wissam Al-Tawil’s vehicle was targeted by the Israeli army while he was heading to his village of Majdal Selm, accompanied by a colleague. After the attack, a fire broke out in the vehicle, resulting in the loss of both lives at the scene.
On the other hand, confirming the operation in Lebanon, the Israeli military stated that the car of an important Hezbollah commander was targeted based on intelligence information. Hezbollah, while confirming the martyrdom of Wissam Al-Tawil in the aerial strike, mentioned that Senior Commander Wissam Al-Tawil held the position of Deputy Chief of the Elite Rizwan Forces.
Expressing sorrow over the commander’s martyrdom, Hezbollah’s spokesperson stated that targeting Commander Wissam Al-Taweel is an extremely painful attack, and it will worsen the situation.
It is noteworthy that since October 7, more than 130 Hezbollah members have been killed in southern Lebanon since cross-border shelling began on October 7. Recently, Israel also targeted and martyred a senior Hamas leader, Saleh Al-Arouri in Beirut, following which Hezbollah launched 62 rockets at Israel. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu threatened Hezbollah, stating that Hezbollah should learn a lesson from Hamas and try to resolve the issue through diplomatic means; otherwise, they will find another way.
