Israeli Forces Attack Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza; Over 600 Patients and Staff Missing

Gaza: The series of Israeli aggression in Gaza continues, and there are fears of casualties among patients and staff at Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza due to Israeli drone attacks.

According to media reports, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of 8 Palestinians in Israeli attacks in Deir al-Balah, while the World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern about the disappearance of over 600 patients and medical staff.

The head of the WHO states that the heavy bombardment, restrictions on movement, and disruption of communication in Gaza have made it nearly impossible to deliver medical supplies to us.

In a statement issued on the social media website X, the WHO said that after the Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, more than 600 patients and medical staff are still missing. According to the statement, due to continuous Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, the WHO had to cancel its visit to hospitals in northern Gaza for the fourth time since December 26.

The WHO stated that despite efforts to provide medicines and other relief items to five hospitals, including Al-Awda Hospital and the central pharmacy, in Gaza, they were forced to cancel the visit due to the lack of assurance from Israel to stop the bombing and protect medical personnel.

According to the head of the WHO, the heavy bombing, restrictions on movement, and disruption of communication have made it nearly impossible to deliver medical supplies to Gaza.

Israel committed at least 12 massacres in the last 24 hours that resulted in the death of hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of Israeli aggression in Gaza on October 7, the Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of nearly 23,210, including around 10,000 children and 7,000 women, and 59,167 Palestinians have been injured severely, and more than 8,000 Palestinians have been missing. According to UNICEF,  more than 10 children a day lose one or both legs in Gaza due to Israeli attacks.

Among those martyred in Israeli bombings, there are 606 members of medical staff and 112 journalists. Additionally,  more than 40 personnel from the Civil Defense have also lost their lives.

Moreover, since October 7 Israel has arrested 5,755 Palestinians including 190 women and 335 children.

Furthermore, 70% infrastructure in Gaza has been either destroyed or damaged in Israeli attacks and over 2 million people from the Gaza Strip have been displaced out of its total population of 2.3 million. The United Nations’ Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths has said that “Gaza has simply become uninhabitable”

Since October 7, Israel has carried out 600 attacks on hospitals and medical infrastructure, killing 616 people within the healthcare facilities of whom 606 were in Gaza and 7 in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, at least 340 Palestinians killed by Israel including more than 84 children while 4,000 have been injured.
