PESHAWAR: Peshawar traffic police (KPK Police) on Tuesday distributed more than 100 free helmets among motorcyclists as initiative to raise awareness among the masses regarding the use of helmets during ride.
Traffic police spokesman said the drive has been launched to sensitize the issue so that human losses in case of road accidents could be mitigated.
The spokesman added that not only people were educated about traffic laws; they were also informed about the risks associated with ruthless riding and one-wheeling.
The traffic wardens distributed free helmets among bikers during the one-day drive.
The traffic police spokesman said large number of people specially youth had lost their lives due to careless riding of bike and one-wheeling.
Public has also appreciated the efforts of the traffic police wardens. They urged the department to continue such drives in future as well.
