ISLAMABAD: Interior Ministry of Pakistan has announced two public holidays on Ashura 2016– 9th and 10th Muharram – which falls on Oct 11 and 12.
A notification in this regard was also issued by the ministry on its website.
According to the circular, all public and semi-government institutions will remain closed on these two days.
Ashura marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Holy Prophet, at the battle of Karbala.
