PERTH: Australian paceman Mitchell Starc sent down a delivery at a record pace – 160.4 kilometres per hour during second Test match of the series against New Zealand.
Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc jolted speedometer when he bowled second fastest ball of cricket history to New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum red alert after he bowled a fast and furious delivery on Day 3 of the second of the three-match Test series at the WACA on Sunday.
This is the fastest ball of the century because Shoaib Akhtar ball wat speed of 161.3 kmph in 2003 against England.
The speedoemeter showed that the speed of the ball had crossed over 160 kmph, that indeed sacred the New Zealand skipper and was certainly an unplayable delivery.
It was one of the fastest deliveries in world cricket, although it was not the fastest as the record is still holded by Pakistan’s Shoaib Akhtar for 161.3 kmph.
