OKARA: Election tribunal has disqualified the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Chaudhary Arif from NA-144, Okara, district of Punjab, on the basis of fake degree on Friday.
According to details, election tribunal heard the fake degree case of Chaudhary Arif, candidate of PML-N from NA-144 and announced the judgment of disqualification of Chaudhary Arif and ordered of re-election in the constituency.
Election tribunal also informed Election commissioner of this verdict.
It should be kept in mind that Chaudhay Arif won in NA-144 in 2013 general elections against an independent candidate Fayyaz Ahmed Khan Ghauri in the constituency.
He got one lac three thousands votes from his constituency but his opponent had filed a petition in the election tribunal that his (Chaudhary Arif) degree is fake.
On Friday, August 21, 2015, election tribunal gave verdict of this petition and disqualified Chaudhary Arif on his fake degree.
